CBP Announces Registration for Onsite Participation in the CBP 2009 Trade Symposium is Now Open
November 11, 2009U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is proud to announce that the 2009 Trade Symposium is scheduled for December 8–10, 2009, and will be held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC.
This year, CBP will be unveiling a new capability for the international trade community to participate in the Trade Symposium. CBP are offering participation via a live webcast, whereby participants may view and interactively participate in the Trade Symposium online. The cost for the Trade Symposium participation via the live webcasting is $35. As an additional feature, participants who pay to attend the Trade Symposium onsite or purchase the live webcast will also be provided with a complimentary 30-day on-demand access via the Internet free of charge. All general sessions will be shown as part of the live webcast. CBP will select three breakout sessions that will be shown during the live webcast. The general sessions and eight breakout sessions will be available during the 30-day on-demand access.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Trade Symposium. The general theme of Trade Symposium 2009 is A Decade of Progress through Partnership. Throughout the symposium we will highlight important work we are doing in partnership with other agencies, the trade community and other governments to improve our efforts in areas such as trade facilitation and compliance, import safety and security. We will also look back over the past decade to review the progress made in key areas. This year’s Symposium will include topics such as:
